Rules and Regulations
1 – RULES OF PARTICIPATION
1. Only short animation films of any format will be allowed to compete in the festival.
2. The maximum length of the films is 10 minutes.
3. The films must have been made after January 2007
4. Video clips and tv shows are not accepted.
2- REGISTRATION AND SELECTION
1. Registration can only be made online at www.fcan.be
2. Any film not registered online will not be entered in the competition.
3. The deadline for submission of films is 1 October 2009. No film will be accepted after that date.
4. A selection committee will decide which films will be allowed to enter the competition. Its decisions will be final and there will be no right to appeal.
5. The list of selected films will be published online after 1 October 2009.
3 - FORMATS
1. Films can only be submitted on a DVD-R PAL format. If your film is selected you will be contacted to send a BETACAM SP PAL Tape.
2. Please ensure that the films are adequately packed before posting them, to prevent them from being damaged in transit.
4 – SENDING AND RETURNING FILMS
1. When submitting films, participants will pay for all postage and packing fees.
2. DVD's are not returned, they will be kept for archives
3. When films are returned, FCAN will pay for all postage and packing fees, only for BETACAM SP.
4. FCAN cannot assume any responsibility in case of loss or damage of the film support during transit. No ulterior complaints will be taken up in case of loss or damage of the film support.
5 – PROJECTION AND SOUND
1. FCAN will strive to show the films in the best possible conditions.
6 - INVITATIONS
1. Only directors of films in competition will receive free accreditation to the festival. Any other person that accompanies them will have pay to an entry fee. FCAN cannot finance the travel costs of competitors.
- GRANTING AWARDS
1. A jury designated by the organisers will grant the awards.
2. The jury’s decisions will be final and there will be no right to appeal.
3. Only film directors or their representatives will receive the awards.
The awards are as follows:
1 Grand Prix du Festival, attributed by the jury
2 Prix du Public, attributed by popular vote
8 - ANNEXES
Registration for the festival entails the participants’ agreement and compliance with these rules and regulations.
